Welcome to the Borderclan Border Collies website – I hope you enjoy your visit.
We are based in the Garden of England – Kent, just a few miles south of the county town of Maidstone, but a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the town!
Our home is a 13th century Wealden Hall House. We were lucky enough to locate this wonderful property in early 2005 and fell instantly in love with the whole place – the house, the outbuildings, and especially the land, which seems to have its own magical peacefulness. We moved here from our previous home on the Kent-Surrey borders in August of that year and have been happily living here ever since.
We share this special place with our dogs, our cats, our daughter, and a cornucopia of wildlife!
Our lives are run very effectively by our Border Collies – and there is never a dull moment. Come rain or shine our dogs are active 24/7 – be it travelling to shows with me, helping John in the vineyard, running free in their large paddocks, or just enjoying the sunshine - they are very much part of our lives and we are very much part of theirs.
The whole property extends to some 13 acres – part of which is a vineyard which we are re-claiming, and consequently takes up a fair part of our time – with the dogs 'helping' us we can truly say that we and the dogs are just too busy to be bored!
I show the dogs at Open and Championship shows around the country, from Exeter to Edinburgh, Maidstone to Monmouth!
I breed the occasional litter of puppies – mostly to continue my breeding lines. The first litter since we moved here was born in April 2008 and another is planned for late 2008 / early 2009.
